The River Suir Bridge (The Waterford Bridge) is a newly constructed cable stay bridge, which forms part of the N25 Bypass in Waterford, Ireland. Completed in September 2009, the bridge spans 465 metres, with a main span of 230m, the single concrete pylon is 95.6 metres high.

Before the bridge was opened to traffic, VCE performed cable measurements of all 76 stays. The results provided the client with not only the actual cable forces in the bridge but also the damping values. VCE also installed a permanent monitoring system, with 62 measurement sensors. The system monitors cable vibrations, wind speed and direction, movement of the bearings and strain in the deck. The recorded data are automatically analysed on site and then published on the internet via the BRIMOS® Web-Interface.
