Terminal 2 – Suspended Roof

In the course of the construction of the Vienna International Airport in the 1950s an – at least for former conditions - very bold suspended roof structure at Terminal 2 was realized.
The monitoring aims at an early recognition of changes in the load-bearing behaviour by means of periodic vibration measurements in order to be able to take measures in case of damages. Periodic monitoring campaigns are to be carried out at intervals of six months where the results of subsequent measurements are compared to those of the basic measurement.
