The "Donaustadt" bridge is 340 meters long with a main span length of 186 m. It was designed as a cable-stayed bridge with one 75-meter-high A-shaped pylon made of steel and with steel girders. The 370-meter-long structures over the Danube Island and the New Danube are made of prestressed concrete.

Measurements of the dynamic behaviour were carried out on at the deck and the stay cables in order to determine the actual load-bearing behaviour of the bridge during the construction phases and in its final state. The dynamic characteristics of the bridge deck are identified by means of several ambient vibration measurements. The cable forces were checked by means of a BRIMOS® measurement.
